My name is Ladonna Rama
Shaped by Western Sydney, core memories of queer underground night culture, and an insular Tokyo studio life, I fuse 80s/90s pop structure with house, electro, minimal, and acid. Influenced equally by Madonna, Pet Shop Boys, S’Express, Kevin Saunderson, Prince, and George Michael, my music combines heavy synthetic basslines, custom-recorded percussion, and hypnotic arpeggios to build bridges between classic songwriting and raw electronic drive - balancing storytelling with dark, sardonic energy.
I manipulate my tracks using pitch-shifted vocal guises, gender-flipping Ladonna Rama from angelic hooks to devilish spoken-word. Equally at home on full-length albums as in fringe club remixes, I make queer sounds for weird ears - built for headphones on a solitary night train, private bedroom discos, or a dark floor on the city's edge.
